S&W Whitetails Unlimited 460XVR Revolver

Smith & Wesson, in conjunction with Whitetails Unlimited, is offering hunters and conservationists a new limited edition, custom-engraved Model 460XVR revolver. The commemorative revolver features a gold plated Whitetails Unlimited logo on the sideplate and will be engraved with the designated state name on the barrel.

As a long-time supporter of conservation efforts, Smith & Wesson has taken its support one step further with the introduction of this new revolver. With each Limited Edition 460XVR revolver purchased, Smith & Wesson will donate a portion of the proceeds to Whitetails Unlimited to support continuing education and the preservation of wildlife. A limited number of the revolvers will be produced. Quantities will vary by state depending upon each state’s membership to Whitetails Unlimited. The Limited Edition 460XVR revolver will carry special serial numbering, starting with WTU.

The S&W 460XVR is the highest velocity production revolver available, is capable of launching a 200-grain bullet at 2,300 fps, while delivering over 2,400 ft/lbs of muzzle energy. The revolver and the entire 460XVR series offer shooters multi-caliber capabilities, accepting .460 S&W, .454 Casull and .45 Colt. The .460 S&W Magnum revolver features Sorbathane recoil-reducing grips and an interchangeable muzzle compensator that dramatically reduces felt recoil. The 460XVR continues the X-Frame benefits introduced in the 500 Magnum chambering — a crisp single-action and smooth double-action trigger, massive 5-round capacity cylinder and a durable stainless steel frame with a satin finish. The Whitetails Unlimited commemorative revolvers will be produced with an 8-3/8” barrel and an adjustable rear sight with a HI-VIZ light-gathering green dot front sight.

Since the revolver’s introduction at the 2005 SHOT Show, the 460XVR has been the recipient of multiple "Handgun of the Year” awards. Its flat shooting trajectory and outstanding accuracy has helped the 460XVR become the premier long-range revolver in the industry.

The limited edition commemoratives will be priced by the individual retailers offering the Whitetails Unlimited 460XVR, however Smith & Wesson expects the retail to be in the range of $1,100 to $1,200.
