The Latest News:
Jerry Wins the International Revolver Championship
It should be no surprise that Jerry Miculek has claimed another title in this year’s Smith & Wesson International Revolver Championship. Shooting in the Open Division, with electronic optic, Jerry finished the match well ahead of all challengers. The win is his 14th revolver championship in the annual wheel-gun action shooting match that draws competitors from around the world to the Hogue Action Pistol Range in Morro Bay, California. Vic Pickett, once again, finished second in the Open Division.
Rob Leatham Wins the Limited Division
The surprise this year was the entry of 1911 handgun Grand Master, Rob Leatham, who showed up, not with a Springfield semi-auto, but with a custom S&W revolver.
Rob entered in the Limited Division, shooting with open sights, and won the division handily. His total score placed him second in the overall match scoring. Overall results, without regard to division classification, put Jerry Miculek first, Rob Leatham second, and Vic Pickett third.
Leatham said he entered this year’s match just for the fun of it, but he clearly had trained with his revolver for the event. Rob said, people don’t remember that he started out years ago shooting a revolver in action events. That was before his long series of National and International titles as the absolute master of the single stack 1911 semi auto.
