X-Die

In today’s tip I would like to talk about one of the frequently asked questions we receive at the factory. That question is, how can I eliminate the time consuming and tedious process of trimming my cases.  To answer that problem we have developed the RCBS X-Die. This will not eliminate the need to trim your cases entirely. You will have to do an initial trimming one time, but that’s it for the life of your case. I have an X-Die set up here to demonstrate just how it works.    As you can see on this cut away, the X-Die mandrel catches the mouth of the case neck and keeps the brass form flowing forward, thus eliminating the need for trimming your cases. The X-Die performs your full length sizing operation as well as completely eliminates the need to trim your cases. So for you Varmint hunters out there, the next time you have a batch of a thousand to two-thousand cases to trim, the X-Die is a valuable time-saving tool.
