Shootout at Mule Camp
The Old West meets the Deep South at the Single Action Shooting Society’s Southeast Regional Championship. It’s competition with sixgun, rifle and shotgun in the fastest growing shooting sport in the country, now with more than 60,000 registered members wearing their official SASS badges.
Cowboy Action Shooting is competition with single-action revolvers, lever action rifles, shotguns and other firearms from America’s historic, Old West. It’s fast, it’s competitive and it’s very entertaining for both shooters and spectators.
Shooting U.S.A puts you into the middle of all the action when the Old West meets the Deep South. Mule Camp is the official Southeast Regional Championship of the Single Action Shooting Society - SASS for short - the governing body for Cowboy Action Shooting worldwide. There are regional titles to be won in a wide variety of shooting classifications.
500 competitors strap on their six guns at the South River Gun Club outside Covington, Georgia. You can bet your spurs a lot of them are aiming to prove one thing - that they’re the fastest Old West gunslinger in the South, but set a spell and it’s easy to see that Cowboy Action Shooting is about more than winning. It’s living the old West life for the weekend, playing the roll of your favorite Silver Screen hero from the Hollywood version of our history.
Family, friends and a whole lot of fun are all big parts of this event which has become an annual celebration of the spirit and traditional values of America’s Old West.
