Limited Nationals USPSA
The Limited Nationals is the hotly contested US Championship for the purists in run and gun, action, handgun shooting — iron Sights, over a major caliber, with no help reducing recoil. What you shoot is what you must control as the electronic timer records your speed through the stage. Championship Series coverage of the best of the Limited Division Shooters contesting the National Title.
The Limited Division of the United States Practical Pistol Association is the closest to the roots of the organization, with no “race gun” enhancements allowed — no electronic optics and no compensators or hybrid systems to tame recoil. High Capacity guns and magazines are permitted in the division, which most often, are an enhanced variation of the classic 1911 design by John Browning. Calibers selected by the top professionals now are almost always the 40 S&W Auto Cartridge.
The USPSA describes their competition as the Extreme Sport of Shooting so you won’t be surprised the championship competition continues rain or shine. The all-weather rule does make a difference in this championship event as the sky turns ugly in the final day of competition.
Our coverage tracks the top shooters in the “super squad” through the stages of fire, with special analysis by former Limited Division champion, instructor and gun author, Brian Enos.
