It’s the annual gathering of the members of the Single Action Shooting Society at Founder’s Ranch outside Albuquerque, New Mexico, for the World Championship of Cowboy Action Shooting. But friendly competition on the ranges is only a part of the appeal that brings well over a thousand cowboys and cowgirls to End of Trail. It’s dressing up to live the role of your cowboy hero that’s made Cowboy Action Shooting the most successful shooting sport in our history.
There are now thousands of SASS members around the world putting on big hats, and shooting six guns, rifles and shotguns. With that participation cowboy action shooters have become a strong force in the firearms industry. Cowboy Action Shooting continues to expand the public’s interest in owning guns and shooting, as more members join the local clubs each year. doing some of the best P-R work along the way. Well that’s because cowboys don’t just shoot the guns they live the old west lifestyle. So when members of the single action shooting society get together for their world championships you can bet there is a lot more going on than just shooting. It’s the largest single gathering of members and friends living the cowboy way.
